How to Draw the German Flag

Make two horizontal lines which will in turn be three sections for the colors.

Next, draw the shield like shape in the middle of the flag design, then move to step three.

With the shield drawn, you can begin sketching out the bird in the center of the symbol. The bird is ridged and the feathers on the wings are oblong.

Finish things off by drawing the legs, tail, and then the talons on the bird. Erase all those mistakes and you are all done.

Here is the German flag. Now you can color in those three stripes using the black, red and yellow shades.

Description: Here is another flag design from a country that is well known by everyone in the world. This lesson will show you "how to draw the German flag", step by step. The German flag was established back in 1848 and was re-established in 1949 with the black, red and yellow colors. After World War II Germany was split into two sides, East Germany and West Germany. When 1990 rolled around Germany once again became united and is now just Germany. An interesting fact about the three colors is the black red and yellow shades where used in the flag to represent the soldiers because those three colors where used for the German soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars.
