How to Draw Rubies

Step 1.

We will start with the round ruby. Just draw a circle for this gem.

Next, add the cut line to the ruby by drawing an octagon like shape and some raised vertical lines.

Next, draw a square like so.

You will then draw another smaller square in the center of the gem and then add the cuts as well.

We will now draw the triangle and proceed to step six.

Lastly, add detailing to the gem stone and you are all done.

The great thing about this lesson is you can choose to make them rubies or you can color them in to look like your favorite gem.

Description: I have been wanting to do a lesson like this for a while now but never got around to it. Yesterday I finally made a couple tutorials on some of my favorite jewels and today I will be showing you all how you can make some yourself. I will start with my birthstone. Here is how to draw rubies, step by step. The ruby is, to me, the prettiest jewel. It's red vibrant color can come in shades of dark red or bright vibrant red. In this lesson I made three different shaped rubies. A circle shape, triangular shape and the square shape. You can find rubies in all different sizes and all different types of jewelry like bracelets, charms, earrings and rings. Even broaches and belts. I know this is not an exciting tut, but at least it's different and colorful. Have fun drawing rubies and stick around for other tuts coming your way.
