How to Draw Cloud Strife

Step 1.


Okay before we start this first step, i should tell you that this may be hard for some of you that are attempting lesson. You will start by drawing out the head shape and add the facial guidelines. Next add the shape of his chin and make an indentati   

Step 2.


As you can see you will start sketching out his hair style as well as the shape of his right and left arm, hands and waist. You will then make the Buster Sword look more big and bold as shown. Then begin the sketching of his legs or pants as well as    

Step 3.


Now that you have completed steps one and two, you will now move onto these next two steps. But first start this third step by sketching the rest of the shape of Clouds spiky looking hair as well as his nose and lips or mouth. Next detail and define    

Step 4.


Detailing and defining is key. That is what you will start to do in this step. The first thing you will do is start sketching in the detailing lines on the blade of the Buster Sword and the base. Next start sketching in the definition in his hair as    

Step 5.


Yay! your almost done. Are you excited or what? Take the time to detail Clouds face to make sure he keeps his handsome quality. You will then add more definition to his spiky hair and then to the blade of his sword. Next detail the handle of the swor   

Step 6.


Well this is the last drawing step and what you will take your time doing is detailing his outfit as well as the metal pauldron or wolf head on his left shoulder. After you have finished sketching in all the detailing sketching lines, you will start

Description: Well before I submit my last character from The Jungle Book, I figured I would give those eyes a break from all the cartoon characters that have submitted recently and treat you guys to something more tantalizing. This drawing took me a total of seven hours (No Joke). I chose a scene right from the movie and implanted a pose in my head to make him look like a solider again. What I first did was go down to my parlor to watch FF7 until the perfect scene came to me. I then chose my pose and went straight to my room to do a rough sketch of how he was gonna look and to make sure that the pose and position was accurate. So having said all that, right now I am about to show you a lesson on how to draw one of my all time favorite characters since I was a kid. You are about to learn "how to draw Cloud Strife", from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. I had such a wicked time on this tutorial. As you know he is the main character of the Final Fantasy VII game and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie. Now the best way to describe Cloud is to tell you a bit about his background and about the person he used to be. He is said to be anywhere between eighteen to twenty one years old. He has spiky blond hair (which is known as his trademark), and blue eyes that has a certain vibrancy to them which is mainly because of his ex association with SOLDIER. Some describe these types of eyes as “Mako Eyes” because they are a sign of that person being submerged into the condensed version of Lifestream. The only known people to have been exposed to the Lifestream are those in SOLDIER. These people have prolonged exposure to “mako” which is said to be similar to radioactive materials. Cloud was at one time part of the elite Shin-Ra task force which is also known as SOLDIER. Now this elite force is made up of a team of men that have been biologically enhanced by Mako. Some of these individuals are Cloud Strife, Zack Fair (Clouds good friend), and Sephiroth. There are also more men that have been enhanced as well, but we will leave that blank for now. Now Cloud is also equipped with dark colored clothes. On his left shoulder he displays a metal pauldron (which is the wolf like head that resembles a door knocker). His main weapon is his Buster Sword which he took from Zach Fair after they had their last conversation before he died right in front of Cloud’s eyes. Cloud uses the over sized sword as his main weapon and he also drives a Fenrir Motorcycle. Cloud often suffers from pain due to the disease he carries called Geostigma which he contracted when Professor Hojo injected Cloud with Sephiroth's cells which exposed him to Mako. The story has so much to it, it is an epic tale that was started back in the 80’s before Cloud was ever involved. I love the game and I also love both Final Fantasy movies. In this tutorial I will show you how to draw Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children step by step. I hope you like this lesson all my sweat and hard work went into it.
