How To Draw An Allosaurus
1
Start your sketch with two circles. The one on top is the head and the oval shape is the frame for the body. Connect them both with a neck guide and then draw the tail guide.
2
Now that the frame work is laid out you can start drawing in the front part of the dinosaur's face, snout and jaw. When recreating the Allosaurus be sure to make this step look like more like a fossil. As you know dinosaurs had well defined heads.
3
Here you will begin the process of sketching in the small, but sharp teeth on both the top and bottom part of the mouth. Next, draw in the tongue which should look stiff and then draw in the small eye, and nostril. To end this step just sketch in tho
4
You can now begin drawing the rest of the head and notice how the lining flows into the back of the neck, and then the back. Sketch the front part of the neck and incorporate the same lining to create the chest and shoulder.
5
Now that the upper body including the head is all drawn in, we can start drawing out the limbs. Star with drawing the arm, talon, stomach and then draw the thigh and rest of the leg as well as the foot. Start the process for the tail like so, and the
6
Keep the momentum going by drawing the other front limb and then draw the back leg and foot as well. Add some detailing and make sure the finger tips are pointed for the claws.
7
Finish off your dinosaur by drawing the rest of the tail. Sketch in some skin surface detailing before leaving this step. Once you feel confident with your drawing you can start cleaning things up.

Description: The Allosaurus was a dinosaur that existed in the late Jurassic period, over 140 million years ago. This animal was a theropod with a large skull and a mouth full of large teeth. The size of the Allosaurus measured at 30 feet long and weighed around 3 tons. This reptile also had a huge skull that sat on a short neck accompanied by strong powerful back legs and it only had three fingers on the upper limbs. The Allosaurus is a well known dinosaur that both adults and children recognize when seen in a book or on film. An interesting fact about this particular dino is that it was on top of the food chain, which tells us that it took down large, herbivorous. The way they attacked was by ambushing there kill and using their upper jaw like an axe. One last thing I’d like to mention about the Allosaurus is that, this dinosaur, like the Tyrannosaurus, was a carnivore and attacked almost anything in came in contact with. That means if existed when they were around, and you bumped into one of them, your chances of survival is extremely slim. This tutorial shows you how to draw the Allosaurus with 8 steps. The instructions are easy and they give you good details on what to do next. I took 1 hour sketching out this drawing and I think I did a good job. I like the detailing on the face and neck, it looks cool. I’ll smell ya later alligator.
