Description: Let’s do a tutorial on a character that is bad ass. First off what is the first image that comes to your mind when you hear the word Samurai? I know the first thing I think of is an Asian fella with a long skinny sword called a Katana or as some would say a Samurai sword, dressed in either all white or with a mask of a lion and full bodied armor. Well this tutorial takes the image of the traditional Samurai and flips it all the way around with a unique anime character if I’ve ever seen one. Today I will be showing you how to draw Afro Samurai in my cool version. He is a Japanese anime character and is voiced by the bad Samuel L. Jackson. I know you must be wondering how bad this charter must be just by mentioning Samuel L. Jackson’s name. Well let me put it like this he is a brotha with a bad ass attitude, but that’s not the worst part. The worst part is he is a skilled Samurai fighter and he is out for revenge. His face never holds a smile not even a crack. That is because he has nothing to smile about. In the beginning he witnessed his father’s death by beheading when he was a very young boy. Not only did he watch his father die, but the man that killed him threw his fathers head at his feet, and that man was called Justice. Not only did he kill his father but he also kept his headband as well. I mean can you imagine what kind of personality and attitude you would have if you sat there and held your father’s head in your arms? I mean that should tell you how much rage and darkness this anime character is filled with, and that is what makes the show so cool and unique. There are two ways Afro Samurai gains pleasure, one by cutting everybody and anything that crosses his path of revenge, and two by smoking his hand rolled cigarettes that he draws so much pleasure from. In fact he does most of his battling with a smoke in his mouth that he gently discards right before each manslaughter. But that is the only thing he discards with ease. Oh yeah and he also loves a cold glass of lemonade as well. This show was adapted into a 5-episode anime miniseries with the first show that aired online in 2007 and later aired the same month on Spike T.V. In this tutorial you will learn how to draw Afro Samurai step by step with detailed instructions. I hope you enjoy this awesome drawing, and I will soon submit another.
