Description: I was sketching out this next drawing that I am about to submit yesterday, and my mother walked in and said to me “you have to put that as a tutorial”. So after careful consideration I decided that I would submit this sketch as a lesson and I will call it “how to draw a sad girl” step by step. Drawing a sad face is a very versatile concept because there is so many expressions that can be used for the reason why one is sad in the first place. Someone can be sad because they just lost a loved one or because they are being abused by a loved one, or maybe there is some deep suffering that no one knows about. Like all my random sketches, I drew this one without knowing what it was going to be. I will often do that from time to time, just randomly sketch out images and see what they will turn into. This girl's face is saddened because someone she loved very much died and left her with a blackened heart. There is a black widow spider in her mouth that you can see if you enlarge the image to a bigger view. The black spider represents death, anguish, and loneliness. The sketch came out looking so real that when I look at it, I almost feel what she is feeling. I named her Arachna because of her sadness and because of the spider in her mouth. The name Arachna means “spider woman”. The best part about her saddened face is her eyes and her mouth. I didn’t want her to have any clothes on because having her naked represents her heart being stripped from all love and passion. The only thing that she is wearing is a red mesh sash across her torso. The color red is a hidden meaning of love will return all in due time. I am proud of myself with this sketch and I think that it will be a fun lesson to learn from. There are some people that would appreciate such a piece because maybe they are feeling what she looks like she is going through. Have fun with this tutorial on “how to draw a sad girl step by step”. I will be back with much more momentarily so stay tuned. Peace out and happy drawing.
