Description: Hello again people this tutorial today will be on how to draw a mongoose. These animals are found throughout Africa, but some mongooses also reside in parts of the peninsula, and southern Asia. The mongoose is a diverse species because not only do they spend most of their time on land, but they are also known to be semi aquatic as well, but they can be found high above on tree tops too. A typical mongoose sizes up to be a good 7 inches long, but get this there is another type of mongoose called the dwarf mongoose, and despite its name they are a whopping 2 feet long, amazing huh. Those measurements are from head to body, there is an additional 6 to 21 inches when it comes to the tail of a mongoose. They vary in weight as well, anywhere from 12 ounces to 11 pounds depending on habitat, breed, and food supply. Mongooses sort of resemble a ferret because they both have long sleek bodies, short legs, and tapered or narrow snouts. The color of a mongoose is typically brown, grey, or like a yellowish brown. These animals are most famous for attacking poisonous snakes like cobras and rattle snakes, and eat them whole. They also feed on other animals like rats and mice, birds, frogs, worms, insects, and even reptiles. They are as you may have figured out by now carnivores, although there are some species of mongooses that actually eat fruits and seeds as a diet. Did you know? Mongooses where used back in the 1800s as a solution to control a rodent problem in Hawaii and in the West Indies on various sugar cane plantations. It’s a funny situation because even though these animals where brought to fight off a rodent problem they are being blamed for the disintegration of other native species like birds. But in the mongooses natural habitat they are currently on the endangered species list, weird huh. Well this tutorial will show you how to draw a mongoose step by step. The instructions are easy to read and follow. So enjoy.
