How to Draw a Coffin

Start this first step by drawing some basic guidelines to help make drawing a coffin a whole lot easier. First draw a long straight line down the middle of your paper. Then what you will do is draw the smaller lamp shade shape piece first and then dr

In this next step you will finish drawing out the lining and shape of the coffin. After you have completed the coffin shape, you will start drawing out the top part of the cross as shown. At this point you can draw out any kind of cross you like. Nex

Description: Well it is now that time to submit another awesome tutorial on DragoArt.com. Today I will be showing you how to draw a cool cartoon coffin step by step. I am so proud of this drawing because it looks so creepy and it came out looking just like I hoped it would. Now coffins are used to bury people in once they have passed onto the other side. The coffin was a wood constructed box that really had no specific shape when they were first created. Before the coffin came along, folks use to bury people wrapped in a sheet before they placed them in the ground. Now typically you are buried six feet beneath the earth right? Well back in the olden days (I should actually say newer years because that is when the world was young) you were lucky to be buried four feet in the ground. Because of this a stock pile of rocks and boulders used to be placed on top of the freshly buried bodies in order to keep wild animals from digging up the grave and feasting upon loved ones. There are two different burial boxes that I know of. First is the coffin (which we are going to learn how to draw today), the coffin is a box built just for burying and burning. Coffins have a top that is one whole piece without an opening or cut off. You place the body in, seal it, and either bury it or burn it when a cremation is ordered. The other type of deceased body receptacle is a casket which is what people use most of today. Caskets are built with a top that splits in two. The top half opens while the bottom half stays shut. These units are used at wakes when the top half is left open for loved ones to pay their last respects to the beloved deceased. They are also buried as well and they usually cost more. The unit that most vampires and the famous Dracula use is a coffin. They have to keep as much light out as possible so they will not be exposed or disturbed to the incoming light. This tutorial will show you how to draw a cartoon coffin with ease. I am trying to submit more and more easy tutorials because I know a lot of you out there want simplicity. I will be back with more tutorials in a bit so hang on.
