How to Draw Smiles

Step 1.

This is just a sketch of some examples that you can pick and choose from when making a smile on your character. The top shows a drawing of a smirk, the second is a full smile, then you have a grin, laughing smile, and a plain out historical laughter.

Step 2.

Here is a figure of how the corners of a smiling mouth should look. Notice the grin or mouth lines with the arrows.

Step 3.

Here are many faces that have some different smiles. I wanted to draw a few figures to show you how a certain smile would look on a face.

Step 4.

Begin with a long, semi-straight line with creases at the corners.

Step 5.

Now draw the top row of teeth which is solid with no tooth lines. Draw out the extension of the mouth like so, and then move to step six.

Step 6.

All you have to do now is draw out the bottom row of teeth, and then draw in the tongue. Now that you are done you can move to step seven.

Step 7.

Here is what your smile looks like when you are all done. Now you just learned how to draw a smile that can be used on many faces across the globe. Hope you had fun folks.

Description: Well now it's time to do something that is full of giggles and laughs. This next lesson will teach you guys "how to draw smiles", step by step. This is not that different than following the several mouth tutorials that I have on the site. What this submission is supposed to do is teach folks how to draw a proper smile on any type of figure whether it be a chibi, anime, or regular person. I had fun making this tutorial because I used some of the mouths that many of my drawings have. This is a well rounded lesson that is filled with different tips, tricks, and techniques to making something out of nothing. Have fun with teaching yourself how to draw smiles because I know you will.
