1

Start out by drawing a stick figure for your guides to help create Pete.

2

Create the shape of Pete's face like so, then draw in his long hair. As you can see Pete didn't get regular cuts from the local barber.

3

Up next, draw in the eyes, nose and mouth. Once that is done add some freckles and colored eyebrows.

4

Draw in Pete's neck shape and then draw in his overalls which are farm style. Add the crinkle and wrinkle on the sides and move to step five when done. (You obviously know to do that).

5

Add the stitch or seam line down the legs of the overalls, then draw in the pockets on the front and sides.

6

Finally, draw in the sleeves and arms and then the hands. Once that is completed you can finish Pete off by drawing the feet and shirt collar. Erase the mistakes and guides as well.

7

You're done. Now color in Pete before showing people that you just drew Pete and his dragon Elliot.

Description: You know you can't have a lesson on Elliot the dragon and not have one on his human friend Pete. Here is the first tutorial I ever did on how to draw Pete from Pete's Dragon, step by step. Pete is the little boy who was raised in the wild by a dragon named Elliot. He was later discovered by some folks who brought the little boy to town and asked him questions like; "where are your folks, who raised you and how did you survive?". I never seen the film, but I know it's gonna be good. Just the effects in the movie alone are worth taking a look at. Anyways, have fun drawing Pete folks. I will be back with other tuts so don't go too far away.
