How to Draw Esmeralda

Step 1.

Draw a circle for her head, add the face lines, and then draw a neck. You will attached these two parts to the rounded triangular shape of her torso, and then draw out the bell shape for her long dress. Add the arm and leg guidelines.

Step 2.

Sketch out the shape of her face, and then begin sketching out her wavy hair style. Her hair is in two sections, this is the first piece of the two parts.

Step 3.

Esmeralda has very full, thick hair so you must convey this through the way the rest of her hair is drawn in a very wide way. Once you have completed her hair, you can then sketch in her big eyes, eyebrows, nose, and then her mouth. Color in the pupi

Step 4.

You will mainly just focus on the upper part of her body. Draw her puffed sleeves, and then draw in her arms and some of her hands. Next sketch out her bust and waist, and then add the collar for her top which sits low as you see here. Draw some stri

Step 5.

Finish sketching out her right hand and add a bracelet. Next draw the scarf that she has tied around her waist that is almost always a part of her ensemble. Give the clothing some texture and definition by adding crease and wrinkle lines.

Step 6.

Draw the rest of her skirt, and then add the crease or fold lines at the bottom like you see here. Draw the portion of her legs that is showing, and then draw her feet, and ankle bracelet. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one

Step 7.

This is it. You just learned how to draw Esmeralda, step by step. Did you have fun or what? I know I did. All you need to do now is color her in. Great job guys.

Description: If you look in the “Cartoon” category you will notice that I created a new subsection called “Disney Princesses”. I did this because even though all of the popular princesses are from the Disney franchise, I thought they deserved to be in their own section. I did notice that I never did a tutorial on “how to draw Esmeralda", step by step. Although, I don't remember her being part of the princess clan, sometimes her character is thrown in the crowd with the other clean cut, looking fair maidens. Besides, I thought Quasimodo would be a little lonely without his good friend Esmeralda joining in. She is one of the main reasons why I like the cartoon so much. Her character is voiced by Demi Moore, and I think the casting department picked the right gal for the job. Demi adds this spunkiness to her whole purpose. Not only that but, I can totally picture Demi being a gypsy. In the movie Esmeralda is a young gypsy girl that entertains the people of Paris, as she dances, sings, and does disappearing acts. She is almost always accompanied by her trusted friend and sometimes companion pet goat Djali. In the movie she also does one of her seductive dances in front of the ill willed Claude Frollo who already has some sort of obsession with her. Because he believes that he is a holly man, he labels Esmeralda a witch and demands that she is burned at the stack for her evil ways. When she is running from the officials, she runs inside of the church for sanctuary and that is when she becomes close with Quazi. In all I think her character is unique. She and the story of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” is a novel that was written by Victor Hugo. I think I did a good job with this lesson on “how to draw Esmeralda", step by step. This barefooted gypsy has made an impression on the minds and hearts of a lot of French men. I will be back once again. Have fun and peace out!
