How to Draw Anime Hello Kitty

Step 1.


Draw a circle for the head, then draw the torso shape followed by the legs and feet. Add the facial guidelines as well as the clothing guidelines.

Step 2.


Here you will draw the shape of Kitty's head. Instead of stubby rounded ears, I made short pointed ears.

Step 3.


You will use the guidelines to draw out the great big eyes, then draw the thick upper lid line. Add the whiskers, nose and mouth.

Step 4.


Draw in Hello Kitty's bow, then draw the detailing inside her ears.

Step 5.


Now you will work on getting the body drawn out starting with the shoulders, torso, hips and legs. Draw the mitten like hands, then proceed to the last drawing step.

Step 6.


For the last step, draw the collar of the shirt, then draw the suspenders for her jump suit. Add the sock line, then draw the shoes and sleeve lines on her arms. Erase your mistakes as well.

Step 7.


Here she is, all animed up and ready to color in. Her pink colors really makes her presence known.

Description: I don't know how this next lesson will do, but I'm thinking that this tutorial will get mixed reviews. I wanted to do a play on "how to draw anime Hello Kitty", step by step. This anime version of the kitty queen was lots of fun to create. There was a few concepts about the style for Hello Kitty that I tried out before coming to the completed product. At first anime Hello Kitty had fingered hands, but then I thought I should keep the original concept going by drawing mitten style hands with a twist. I think some folks will like this tut, and I also think some folks will hate it. Either way she will still be fun to recreate. Enjoy and carry on with your drawing day.
