How to Draw a King Cobra

Drawing snakes is always fun but they can be a bit frustrating to tackle. Hopefully this tutorial will help you draw a king cobra with ease. Start with a small circle for the head, and then draw out the guidelines for the face and long, slithering bo

Begin sketching out the front parts of the cobra's head, nose, and neck.

Continue to draw out the back of the snakes body, and then begin drawing out the flared ribs that these snakes are known for.

Now instead of proceeding to drawing out the body further, you will begin sketching out the snake eyes. Make the inner lining darker and bold for added effect. When that is done lightly sketch out some of the snake scales too.

Now you can draw out the mouth lining like you see here, and then color in the pupil. Add some more detailing to the skin texture like you see here.

Now you can begin drawing out the shape of the king cobra's body like so. Be sure to make the body even, and nicely drawn in like you see here.

Continue to draw out the snakes body and be sure to draw it so it sort of wraps around the body and forms the number eight. The further you get with drawing the body, the narrower the shape becomes as you near the tail.

Now you are ready to finish drawing out the tail and notice how to draw the tip of the tail is really skinny and scrawny looking. Remember, the king cobra is the largest venomous snake in existence.

Here you will draw the belly lining that separates the underneath from the top. Draw out and color in the slithering forked tongue and move to step ten.

Now to finish off the king cobra, you will first need to erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one. Next, draw in the horizontal belly lines like so, and then sketch in all the scales. The scales are nicely drawn on the snakes ribs, and th

Description: Snakes, snakes, and more snakes. I just can’t seem to get enough of snakes when it comes to art and making tutorials. I know I have a good amount of lessons on these slithering animals, but I just thought that a good and easy tutorial on "how to draw a king cobra", step by step would be something that folks and other members would enjoy. This should be a relatively easy tutorial to follow, as I made sure that the steps where made to be easy to follow and read. Sometimes it gets hard to talk about animals repeatedly especially if they are something that was drawn more then once. I think you will enjoy this lesson that is going to show you a different way to draw a king cobra which is one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
