How to Draw a Hamster

Step 1.


Start this step by drawing out some basic guidelines and shapes to form a frame of the hamster. Start by drawing a big rounded head with facial guidelines sketched in the front. Now draw another circle shape but this time it is going to be much large   

Step 2.


In this next step you will be drawing out the hamsters fur, the lining of the tiny fingers and toes, and a big portion of the face. Draw two circles for the eyes, then draw two shapes for the ears as shown. Now draw or sketch in the nose and lip flap   

Step 3.


This is the last step to drawing the hamster. What you will do here is fluff up the left side of the body as you did on the right side. Make sure when you are sketching out the fluff you try and give the hamster the look of being well rounded and chu   

Step 4.


This is what your sketch should look like when you are completely finished. All you need to do is color him/her in any color you want to. I get most of my images to sketch from either from books laying around my house or from real life pictures I fin

Description: This is going to be a tutorial on a cute animal that most folks find adorable and fun. Today you will learn how to draw a hamster step by step. You know, I have to say that I have never been personally fond of hamsters because they are part of the rodent family, and anything that is a part of the rodent family I usually stay away from. Hamsters have been a household pet since I can remember. At times they are also used as laboratory animals as well. When these little critters live out in the wild they dig borrows, in these borrows they hide from predators for most of the bright daylight hours. They prefer to come out of hiding during dusk hours all the way till the skies turn a dark navy blue. If you are wondering if these rodents are nocturnal the answer is no, they just prefer to be out and about when most folks eat supper. Hamsters are also bred very easily, which is why they are used as lab animals and housed as family pets. The diet for hamsters consist of fruits, wheat, nuts, vegetables, and even crickets or mealworms at times depending on their environment of course. The appearance of a common hamster is very simple, they have rodent looking hands and feet, a short bobbed tail, so short they often seem like they have no tail at all. They have soft thin ears, much softer than a common rat. The color of their feet, hands, and nose can sometimes look like a pale pink. Hamsters also have short stubby legs and very thick fur. The hamster comes in a variety of colors which include black, grey, brown, white, buff, yellow, or a mix of two colors from the pallet. The sizes of hamsters are quite small ranging between 2-5 inches long depending on the type of breed. When keeping a hamster as a pet all you need is a simple hamster cage set up consisting of wood chips, water bottle, exercise wheel, maybe a tunnel or two and some feed. They are also relatively easy to maintain and care for. In this tutorial you will learn just how easy it is to draw a hamster. As always the step by step instructions are easy to read and follow.
