Start this first step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes for the crocodile as seen here. Start with an egg like shape for the head and then a long oval shape for the body. You will then draw out the starting shape of the snout and mouth line. O

In this next step you will start by drawing out the rest of the shape of the bottom jaw and then start adding his razor sharp teeth. Once that is done sketch out the shape of his eye and then his bulky neck. Shape out the legs and claw like feet and

You have now made it to the third step which means you are almost done. When you tackle this step you will start by adding the tough skin detailing on his head and then add the jagged lines going down his back all the way to the tail. Add some wrinkl

This is your last drawing step and all you will do here is add some definition to the spike like shapes on his back and tail. Once that is done add wrinkle lines on his toes and along the bottom of his belly. You can now start erasing all the guideli

Description: Hello all welcome back to another tutorial edition here on DragoArt.com. For my first lesson I will be doing a tutorial on a very popular reptilian animal that we all know and either love, fear, or hate. You will learn how to draw a crocodile. The crocodile that I’m doing is colored in a cartoony kind of way to make it more appealing to young and older kids. Crocodiles are sometimes confused with alligators because they resemble each other in appearance. What is the difference between the two you ask? This is one of the most common questions asked when learning about these rather interesting animals. Just to give you an idea of the difference I will first tell you that there are over five different qualities of the two species and I will tell you what they are in my own words from what I know. The first difference between the two is that they come from different families. The second difference is the shapes of their noses. If you look at an alligator you will see that they have a rounded tip nose almost resembling a “U” shape, and the crocodile has a more elongated “V” shape snout. The difference is very clear when you look at the two side by side. The alligator has a nosed made for strength, making it able to withstand the stress caused to bone when massive force is applied to crack open turtles and other hard-shelled invertebrates. The crocodile on the other hand have a snout made to on a more basic and general level leaving them capable of eating a wide variety of food. Now don’t get me wrong, crocodiles have a powerful jaw as well they are just more on the mainstream level of foods and an alligator is on a delicacy level. The third difference of the two is the way there teeth are shaped and lined. Alligators have a wider upper jaw and because of that their upper jaw almost completely overlaps the bottom jaw. In crocodiles the upper jaw and lower jaw are exactly the same width making the teeth in the lower jaw alien with the upper jaw when the mouth is closed. Now that we know some of the differences between the two let’s ask another question, what is bigger the crocodile or the alligator? Well that is all for today.
