Easy Sphinx Drawing Lesson

Let us begin by drawing the guides for the head and body. When that is done, draw the guidelines for the wings and legs.

You will now sketch in the profile of the Sphinx's face like so. Once that is done sketch out the ear shape and the chin hair. Add definition to the face as well.

For this next step all you have to do is sketch in the mane which is like a lion. When that is done add detailing to the mane and proceed to step four.

Here you will draw in the front leg followed by the thick paw. Add the claws and then sketch in leg detailing.

Continue to sketch out the body which is the chest, belly, back legs/paws and then draw the long lion tail and don't forget the tuft at the end of the tail.

We will draw the other leg which is left over. Draw in the claws and you will move to step seven.

Lastly, draw in the large wide open thick wings and you can erase the mistakes and guides.

Here is the line art. Now you can color in the creature before you show it off to others.

Description: Hello one and all, welcome back to another fun filled lesson on a fantasy creature that is well known to anybody who loves monsters of lore. Up next we will learn how to draw a sphinx, step by step in an easy to follow tutorial. I have done lessons on sphinxes before and out of all of them, this is the best one I have ever done so far. I love the flying pose and galloping stance. The wings are wide spread and in full flight. I hope you enjoy this tut, I will be back with more.
