How to draw a shojo girl- front view

First sketch out the head and neck. As they say, take it from the top! The head should be round, not pointy. Where the chin starts, make the mouth guideline. Make the eye guideline curved up for the shape of the eyelids. The line in the middle of th

Next draw the shoulder area. Tip: The width should be about 6 necks long! I figured this out with my neck. My neck is twice as wide as a shojo character's neck, so for me it's 3 necks. Then I used ratios for the rest. (It's good to pay attention in m

Next draw the torso going in. The torso looks like an upside down trapezoid. Draw two ovals as shoulders, then draw a line connecting the bottom and middle of the shoulder ovals. And then add more length to the vertical guideline.

Where the vertical line and middle shoulder line cross, draw a circle. This will later make up the collarbone. Then draw the...um...chest area.(lol) The two...chest areas align between the outside of the neck and inside of the shoulders.

Whew, glad I got the last step over with. Draw two arms coming down the sides. Then we can finally get to the character!( Imitates cheering crowd)Yaaaay

Sketch out her basic facial features. You can tell by her face that she's a sweet, bubbly type of character. The mouth goes under the mouth line, the nose is just a dot on the line, and the ears start above it. Those are all petite. The eyes are lar

Draw her clothes and hair anyway you like, because accessorizing the character is always the fun part! I just decided to do the hairbun and tank top so you can see the basic character shape and stuff, but you don't have to. Also draw the eye pupil a

Description: Hi! Here's miibubblegum with my first tutorial! Now you will learn to draw a shojo character from the front view! I made this on paper, so it won't look like the picture, but I'll work on making better tuts when I can get access to Sai PaintTool (or is it paint tool sai? I'm confuzzled.) Anyways have fun!
