I personally never heard of this character until i borrowed a book from the library on how to draw x men. but i really do like his cape because it reminds me of a spider, even though i hate arachnids. The book said he's the nastiest villain of the x men universe, so i guess a spider would make sense, b/c there's nothing more nasty or scarier than spiders.
