Okay start this first step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes of the pirate ship as shown. Start with an oval circle for the shape of the hull and then draw all the remaining guidelines for the sails and the three mast.

Now what you will do next is draw out the shape of the boat and the long shape in the front which is called the bowsprit. Next draw out the lining for the shrouds which are the net like sails in the front of the sails themselves and then the vertical

You will begin adding the sail shapes on each mast pole as shown to you here and then draw in the window like shapes along the hull. You will color them in as well and then start detailing the boat by add in some small lines to show that it is wood.

This is your last drawing step and what you will do is draw out the birds nest and detail all the sails by adding wrinkle lines. You will then draw out a skull on the mid sail on the bottom of the main mast pole. Start erasing all the guidelines and

Once you are done your pirate ship should come out looking like the one you see here. All you have to do now is color it in and add some water. I hope you liked this tutorial on how to draw a pirate ship step by step.

Description: Hello all you members and visitors of DragoArt.com I am back with another drawing tutorial that I was supposed to put up yesterday but I felt that it could wait because I wanted to work a little more on it. For my first lesson I will show you "how to draw a pirate ship", step by step. Now my pirate ship was drawn in a cute way so that everyone is able to tackle this awesome looking ship. Pirates terrorized the seas and they were considered to be very rebellious. If you were a captain riding on the open waters and you came across a ship that you thought to be a pirate ship, you would know either way because pirates often raise their Jolly Roger flag (which is a black flag with a skull and two swords crossed under the head. They would raise this flag when they were about to hijack or rob another ship or vessel that was passing threw on the same waters they were on. Pirates usually had a route that they traveled and this route was usually like a high traffic area almost like our highways and freeways that we travel every day. Let’s talk a bit more about the Jolly Roger flag shall we? First off this flag was the traditionally named flag for all European and American pirates and not only that but this was the symbol that was associated with piracy and since then has been adopted today by film-makers and toy distribution factories. Now some may think that since pirates stole for a living they must have lived well and ate like kings right? Wrong, the fact is pirates lived very poorly and very rarely ate anything at all their diets consisted mainly of bananas and limes that they handpicked from the islands that they passed while on the open water. Pirates lived on their ships and the only time they got off their ships was when they wanted to trade their stolen goods in exchange for food or liquor or rum. Because they had very poor diets many pirates died at a very young age. And how about that whole thing that pirates buried their gold? This was just a tale to tell to young kids back in the day to make these bandits look like pure dirt bags. They very rarely stole any type of gold; instead their treasure was food, clothing, guns and household items like soap and rags. All the myths and stories told about pirates were almost false and these men tried to make a living and stay alive on the sea because the sea held no rules, laws or regulations. They lived how they wanted and that was that. This tutorial will show you "how to draw a pirate ship", step by step. I will be back in a bit with one more lesson for you all so stay tuned folks I have more on the way. Also, checking out other tutorials on drawing a pirate ship can also be helpful as well. It's almost like getting a second opinion.
